Immigration is a term that people are becoming more and more familiar with. If you know someone who wants to come to America, there are a couple of things to know about visas. While there are various types of visas, these documents typically fall into two categories.

A nonimmigrant visa is for persons wanting to visit America temporarily. This is acceptable for work, vacation, attending school, or other business.

An immigrant visa is for those who wish to remain in the country indefinitely to work or go to school permanently, and possibly even become a U.S. citizen one day.

Persons from 37 countries do not need a nonimmigrant visa if they are here for 90 days or less, but they cannot go to work or school during that time.
